Electron diffraction from ZrO2 on αZr(10anti 10)

Description
A transmission electron diffraction study was made of oxide films grown anodically and thermally (573 K) on αZr(10anti 10). Considerable differences were noted. Several oxide/metal orientational relationships were found. These are apparently determined by stress and zirconium ion matching across the oxidizing metal interface. (orig.)
