Maximum standardised uptake value of quantitative bone SPECT/CT in patients with medial compartment osteoarthritis of the knee

Highlights: • Maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) was successfully calculated using quantitative bone SPECT/CT. • The SUVmax was highly correlated with scintigraphic, radiographic, and MRI parameters for knee osteoarthritis (OA). • The SUVmax and other imaging parameters were not correlated with the patients' subjective symptom scores. • Disease severity of knee OA may be objectively assessed using quantitative bone SPECT/CT. • The SUVmax rather than patients' subjective symptom scores may be more useful for assessing the severity of knee OA.
