Description
The registration efficiency as a function both energy and angle of incidence was determined for alpha particles in Makrofol E. A simple experimental technique has been used which remarkably reduces the number of detectors and exposures necessary to cover the range of energies and angles of interest (0-8.8 MeV, resp. 0 deg. - 90 deg.). A procedure was derived to separate the effects due to simultaneous registration of two kinds of alpha particles from the 212Po/212Bi source. In principle, the described method of determination of the registration efficiency can be used for any detector material and etching conditions
