Internal friction and segregation effects in metals with cellular structure
Creators
Description
Annealing and ageing of metals of a cellular structure were investigated by the internal friction method. The investigation concerned Cr, Mo and some dilute alloys based thereon. The temperature vs. internal friction relationship was studied for specimens whose annealing temperature was not higher than the recrystallization point corresponding to the specimen's chemical composition. Relaxation effects due to boundaries of cells enriched in aggregates based on interstitial elements have been detected. It was shown that some enrichment of the solid solution and an enhanced dissolution of impurities on structure defects are due to a ''warm'' deformation and micro-alloying of chromium and molybdenum
