Intraventricular neurocytoma

Description

This paper describes the clinical, pathologic, and radiologic findings of intraventricular neurocytoma. This represents a distinct and recently recognized intraventricular tumor of neuronal origin. Tissue samples from 12 patients with intraventricular neurocytoma have been evaluated by our pathology department. Six patients underwent craniotomy procedures with total or partial resection of the tumor. Five CT scans, three MR images, and four cerebral angiograms were available for retrospective review. Immunohistochemical staining and electron microscopy distinguish intraventricular neurocytoma as a distinct oncologic entity
