Description

The element spectra of 'savage' hair have been determined by PIXE. Using the pattern mapping method, the hair of 'savage', animal and human have been identified and classed. The samples from 5 'savage' and from 10 primates or other animals are provided by the Community of the 'Savage' Investigation of China, and 9 human hair samples are gathered from Shanghai and Beijing. The statistical analysis shows that the mean contents of all 10 elements determined in hair of 'savege' are significantly higher than those in hair of human and animal, while the contents in hair of animal are not consisitently higher than those in human hair. The nonlinear mapping algorithm(NLM) of these three kinds of hair indicates clearly that the 'savage', animal and human have their own hair element spectrum characteristic
