High-current pulsed source of nonrelativistic electrons
- 1. AN SSSR, Tomsk. Inst. Sil'notochnoj Ehlektroniki
Description
A high-current pulsed source contains a vacuum diode with an explosion-emission cathode, a charging device on the basis of Tesla transformer with an opened ferromagnetic core built in the shaping line and a capacity storage with series-connected inductivity. the source is capable of shaping a two-stage voltage pulse at a load (vacuum diode) with the amplitude of 150 kV which permits to produce high-current electron beams with relatively low energy and permits to change power density at the anode in a wide range. The source is applied in studies on irradiation of different materials with the aim of modifying their surface properties
