Study of biases in potentiometry and coulometry methods in the analysis of uranium samples

  • 1. Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Bombay (India). Fuel Chemistry Div.

Description

An experimental design based on randomized block design (RBD) using NBS 950a U3O8 material was planned to study the biases in potentiometry and coulometry methods. The experiment was designed in such a way that the criteria of randomization, replication and local control have been complied with while allocating the aliquots to the analysts. The personal biases by analyst were avoided by allocating them completely unknown aliquots. Two way analysis of variance (ANOVA) technique was adapted for analysing the results. The data of this experiment indicate a negative bias of 0.31% in potentiometry and a positive bias of 0.14% in coulometry. (author). 2 refs., 2 tabs
