Carbon dioxide insertion into uranium-activated dicarbonyl complexes

  • 1. Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Inorganic Chemistry, Erlangen (Germany)

Description

Uranium(III) complexes bearing hexadentate triazacyclononane macrocyclic ligands L1 engage di- and triketones in both one- and two-electron reduction pathways. The dinuclear enolate generated through one of these pathways reacts with carbon dioxide to generate a new C-C bond. (Copyright copyright 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH and Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
