Ion collection by electromagnetic force
- 1. Osaka Univ., Suita (Japan). Inst. of Laser Engineering
Description
A new scheme to collect ions is proposed for application to atomic vapor laser isotope separation (AVLIS). A two-dimensional simulation based on the magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) model is presented. It is shown that a dense plasma with density of the order of 1011 cm-3 is efficiently driven by the jxB force within 20-30 μs. (author)
