Gamma rays from specific molecular clouds
Description
An examination is made of the characteristics of specific local molecular clouds which might be visible in γ→rays. Data from the SAS II and COS B satellites are used to derive observed γ→ray fluxes and flux limits and comparisons are made with expectation. It is found that on average not much enhancement is needed, i.e. most clouds are inert, but some may need an excess of cosmic rays. Models for the latter are examined
