Depositional control of some strata-bound uranium deposits in carbonate rocks in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Guizhou provinces and Qingling district
Creators
Description
The depositional environments of ore-bearing beds and their showing are essential factors which control the strata-bound uranium deposits of carbonate rocks in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Guizhou provinces and Qinling district. The mineralization is located in the proximity of variation interface where the nature of sediments, the energy of sea, pH and Eh values vary with time. It also occurs spatially at the boundary between uplift and depression. The distribution of mineralized zones are in coincidence with above mentioned variational or transitional zones. It can be suggested that the transitional zones of certain sea basins at paleocontinental margin and continental surface or those among island arc and continental marginal offshore platform are the potential areas for uranium exploration. The wide platforms composed of carbonate rocks of continental surface sea are not favorable for the formation of uranium deposits of this type
