Description
Thermoelectric generators allow the direct conversion of thermal energy into electrical energy. Principles and basic properties of these generators built around thermoelectric modules are presented. An inventory of these modules is given. Methods of design and optimization of thermoelectric generators are addressed. An application for the production of electricity with a woodstove is detailed. The article ends with an exhaustive presentation of thermoelectric generation applications covering electricity generation in extreme environments, waste heat recovery in transport and industry, domestic production, micro-generation for sensors and solar thermoelectric generators

Les generateurs thermoelectriques permettent la conversion directe de l'energie thermique en energie electrique. Cet article presente les principes et proprietes de base de ces generateurs construits autour de modules thermoelectriques. Un inventaire de ces modules est developpe. Des methodes de conception de generateurs thermoelectriques sont presentees. Une application a la production d'electricite pour une cuisiniere bois est detaillee. De nombreuses applications concernant l'espace, la production en milieu extreme, la recuperation des energies thermiques perdues, la production d'electricite decentralisee, la micro-production et l'utilisation de l'energie solaire sont passees en revueAdditional details
