Description
The spallation residues corresponding to the high multiplicity of emitted nucleons in the collision of an 84 MeV/nucleon 12C with a 208Pb target have been investigated using a CR-39 plastic track detector. Their velocity and angular distribution are measured. The dependence of the energy of the products on their atomic numbers is examined. The results obtained can be explained qualitatively by assuming the nontransparency of the target to the projectile used. (orig.)
