Exotic nuclei developed by nuclear system with strangeness

Creators

Description

Nuclei are composed of only two particles, protons and neutrons, but today the diversity of nuclei expands various directions depending on conditions. A direction for isospin isotopes yields unstable nuclei and another direction for strangeness leads hypernuclei and kaonic nuclei. This lecture mostly reports the new interesting field of nuclei with strangeness. First, the structural diversity of the nuclear system with strangeness described and then a new mechanism of the bound state of hypernuclei and the exotic character of kaonic nuclei are explained. Finally, the current status of the research and some problems of the nuclear system with strangeness are mentioned. (Y. Kazumata)
