Isothermal cross section of the manganese-phosphorus-boron system phase diagram at 1070 0 K

  • 1. L'vov University

Description

This paper presents a systematic study of the interaction of the components in the Mn-P-B system (area of 0-0.50 atomic share of P). The specimens for investigation were prepared from powders of manganese, red phosphorus, and amorphous boron. From the results of x-ray diffraction analysis the isothermal cross section of the phase diagram of the Mn-P-B system at 1070 K was found a new ternary compound MnP2B7. A characteristic difference in the MN-P-B system is the formation of an Mn2P phosphide-base solid solution and the new ternary compound in the area rich in boron
