X-ray investigation of the ternary Nd-Ag-Ge system

Description
The isothermal section of the Nd-Ag-Ge phase diagram at 800 C over the whole concentration range has been constructed using X-ray phase analysis. Five ternary compounds have been found: NdAg2Ge2 (CeGa2Al2-type), Nd2AgGe6 (Ce2CuGe6-type), Nd6Ag8Ge8 (Gd6Cu8Ge8-type) and NdAg1.1Ge0.9 (Fe2P-type), NdAg0.7Ge13 (AlB2-type). The crystal structure of these compounds have been established by X-ray powder diffraction (author). 12 refs, 1 fig., 3 tabs
