Analytical characteristics of low power XRF-technology

Description
Recent developments in both hardware and software have dramatically improved the price/performance ratio of simultaneous XRF analysis. The Philips PW 1660 14-channel simultaneous X-ray spectrometer is based on a new tube technology (target transmission tube) which requires just 200 Watt input power. In combination with improved optics and detectors this lead to an analytical performance which satisfies the demand of different industries. The instrument analytical performance has been discussed in terms of speed and accuracy for different applications. In addition a comparison with top-performance sequential- and simultaneous spectrometers has been presented. (author)
