Whole body CAT scan treatment planning with aids of contrast media
Description
Exact anatomical mapping of tumors and organs in a transaxillar section is essential in the treatment planning of radiation therapy. Individualized transaxillar mappings were not available except Rotational Transverse Axillar Tomography, of which contrast and resolution are poor. CAT provides us good transaxillar images for treatment planning, and yet rarely precise tumor sizes and contours are obtained with them. Hence trials has been performed to visualize tumor margins with aids of contrast media. The methods are presented and discussed here, how to localize tumors and their margins with the purpose of treatment planning. (author)
