Description
By the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant (FDNPP) accident, large amounts of radioactive nuclides were released into the environment. Among them, the existence of radioactive Cs-concentrated particles with a diameter of about 2 μm was reported. The main component of the particle is SiO2, and it also contains Cs, Fe, and Zn. In our previous study, we reported the production experiments of the simulated particles by generating a splash of SiO2 in melting CsOH. In the present study, we introduced Fe and Zn in the particles by two different methods. Moreover, we produced radioactive particles by adding 137Cs solution and visualized the simulated particles as black spots by using imaging plates. (author)
