Description

A comparative study was made of sup(99m)Tc-dimercaptosuccinic acid (TSA-12), sup(99m)Tc-tingluconate, sup(99m)Tc-cyton, 197Hg-neohydrine. It has been shown that the use of sup(99m)Tc pharmaceuticals makes it possible to considerably lessen radiation exposure of the patient's kidneys, to improve the quality of radiograms, to evaluate more accurately the amount of the functioning parenchyma. This increases the diagnostic value of nephroscintigraphy and extends indications to its use. The study has shown that the most suitable pharmaceutical for nephroscitigraphy is sup(99m)TSA-12 as it possesses the utmost degree of fixation in the renal cortical layer and forms the minimal tissue background
