Description

It is well established that the survival of irradiated mammalian cells depends not only on the absorbed radiation dose but also on the radiation dose-rate. In the study described, a cellular 'response' function for radiation carcinogenesis is introduced and used in an illustrative study of cell survival-dependent dose-rate effects, with particular reference to point source β-particle emitters.
