Determination of the secondary radiation field of the Dubna synchrocyclotron

Description

For neutron spectra and neutron fluence measurements activation probes and solid-state track detectors have been positioned in the secondary radiation field of the Dubna synchrocyclotron near the target and in front of and behind a shield made of heavy concrete. The values of fluences are compared with those obtained from integrating calculated neutron spectra and those measured with a moderating sphere detector additionally fitted with activation probes. The results have been used for drawing conclusions with regard to radiation protection tasks at high-energy accelerators
