Shell correlations for highly asymmetric systems

It is pointed out that a routine application of existing codes to the calculation of Strutinsky-type shell corrections may lead to erroneous results for systems with high mass asymmetries. The reasons for these errors are pointed out and a modification of the shell correction method is proposed that avoids these difficulties. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

Es wird darauf hingewiesen, dass die routinemaessige Anwendung vorhandener Codes zur Berechnung von Strutinsky-Schalenkorrekturen bei Systemen mit ausgepraegter Massenunsymmetrie zu fehlerhaften Ergebnissen fuehren kann. Die Gruende fuer diese Fehler werden aufgezeigt; es wird ferner eine Abwandlung der Schalenkorrekturmethode vorgeschlagen, bei der diese Schwierigkeiten nicht auftreten. (orig.)
