Synthesis and structure of molybdenum (6) complex with pyridoxine (vitamin B-6)

Description

Complex [O2Mo(PN-H)2]·3H2O, where PN -pyridoxine has been synthesized, its X-ray diffraction analysis (2256 reflections, R=0.037) is carried out. The crystals are triclinic: at 20 deg C a=8.015(1), b=9.393(2), c=9.076(2) A, α=57.21(1), β=69.13(1), γ=66.15(1) deg, Z=1, sp.gr. P1. Coordionation polyhedron of Mo atom - irregular octahedron. Ligands (PN-H) chelate Mo atom via oxygen atoms of deprotonated phenol and 4-hydroxymethyl groups. Nitrogen heteroatom is protonated. Mo=O(1) and Mo=O(2) bond lengths are 1.716(4) and 1.699(4) A respectively. Mo-Ophenol bonds, 2.218 and 2.229 A, are located in trans-positions to Mo=O bonds. Lengths of the rest two Mo-O bonds constitute 1.942 and 1.972 A. The ligands in the complex are in unusual anion form
