Description

Two different experimental methods are used to verify the applicability of counting efficiency correction factor in the global-beta radioactivity measurement of environmental soil sample. For the same foil sample, the amount of radioactive nuclide 238U, 232Th, 226Ra, 40K is measured respectively by γ-ray spectrometer, the global-beta radioactivity of the sample is calculated (C(β)calculate), and then measured directly by chemical method (C(β)measure). Counting efficiency correction factor K = C(β)calculate/C(β)measure. The result shows that K gotten in this experiment is accordant with that by standard sample, all they are 0.77. The same result is gotten for littoral area soil
