Waste motor oils and possibilities for their further processing and combustion

Used oils are hazardous waste that can cause both soil and water pollution. In the last few years the European countries have made a major progress in collecting, reprocessing and reusing the spent oils. Taken activities depend on special conditions, types and regulations in each country. Different country has solved this problem in the way which is most appropriate for its economical and technological conditions. This paper presents the waste oils treatment in some countries, especially in Croatia, and the positive effect in spent oils reprocessing and reusing as a supplement energy source. The justification of spent oils collection and reusing regard not only the industry goods saving, but also the environmental protection. (Authors)
