Effect of intermetallide aging on void formation in austenitic stainless steels during irradiation by fast neutrons

Description
Radiation-induced precipitation of γ'-phase (Ni3Ti) in Kh16N15M3T1 austenitic steels leads to intensive hardening and delay of void formation during long-term fast neutron irradiation at 480 deg C (fluence 1.4x1027 n/m2, dose 60 dpa). Decrease of swelling rate is explained by participation of radiation vacancies in Ti and Ni diffusion fluxes during general development of aging not complete under irradiation due to concurrent dissolution of secondary phases in shift cascades
