Description
Fission penetrability is computed for a fission barrier of Strutinsky type where the initial state of a nucleus and a nonzero reflection coefficient at the last well of the barrier are taken into account. Some effects of initial nuclear state on fission penetrability are explored and the model is then applied to the specific case of 240Pu. The results compare favorably with the ones already existing for this nucleus. (author)
