Description

The nucleon spectral function in infinite nuclear matter, obtained using standard perturbation theory and a complete set of orthonormal correlated functions, has been used to evaluate inclusive and exclusive electron scattering cross sections. The possibility of measuring correlation effects both in the low missing energy (e,e'p) experiments and in the (e,e') reactions at high momentum transfer is discussed in connection with the validity of the plane wave impulse approximation.
