Preparation of CdS1-xSex thin films by a chemical deposition method and examination of some optical and photo electrical properties

Description
The method of chemical deposition of CdS1-xSex is based on the chemical reaction between the hydroxy-citric complex of the cadmium, with sulfide and selenide ions, produced by the chemical decomposition of thiourea and sodium seleno sulfate, in alkali media. Sodium silicate glass was used for substrates. The composition of the thin films was verified by X-ray analyses. From the optical spectra, as well as from the spectra] sensitivity of the photoconductivity, the values of the band gaps (Eg) were evaluated for a set of 10 samples of'CdS1-xSex, where x varies from 0 to 1. It was found that the Eg value decreases with the increase of x. (Author)
