Description
The dose load was determined of the urinary bladder and rectum in the course of intracavitary therapy with radium in the uterine cervix cancer. The measurement lasting 24 hours was made by radiothermoluminescent dosemeters situated in polyethylene catheters simultaneously in separate application of a colpostat or probe. It appears that the longitudinal distribution of the dose in the observed organs of the minor pelvis is affected by a position of the applicators and by physiological procedures. In the urinary bladder and rectum the dose from the colpostat prevails, whereas the dose from the probe is only about half of that dose. (author)
