Energy efficiencies and environmental impacts of complex industrial technology

  • 1. Meteorology, Materials and Standards Division, The Research Institute, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran-31261 (Saudi Arabia)

Description

We evaluate thermal and chemical pollution in terms of wasted energies entering the environment. Calculations for nepheline processing are carried out as an example. Advantages of using complex raw-material processing and multi-product outputs are illustrated on the basis of energy-efficiency improvements and reduction of environmental impact. (author)
