A NRESPG Monte Carlo code for the calculation of neutron response functions for gas counters II

Description

We have developed a Monte Carlo code 'NRESPG' in order to calculate the neutron response functions and detector efficiencies of gas counters. In this code, a cross section data for several kinds of filled gases, materials of the counter wall and materials some moderators to enclose the counter are taken from ENDF/B-V. The first version of NRESPG code could calculate only cylindrical geometry. In newest version of NRESPG (version II) can calculate spherical geometry, and takes consideration into the kinetic theory of heat in moderator material. In this paper, we show the outline of the NRESPG and some typical results of the response functions and efficiencies of several kinds of gas counters. (author)
