The course of discussion on thyroid cancer

First, this paper summarized the results of thyroid test as of January 2018. The results of the second round test are the data as of June 30, 2017 and the results of the third round are the latest data as of September 30, 2017, and there are no major changes in the overall values. Next, this paper showed in time series the flow of presentation of the cases of malignancy (or suspected malignancy) and surgery in the four meetings of the Oversight Committee for Heath Management Survey and Thyroid Test Evaluation Subcommittee. After that, this paper summarized the movement in each of the Oversight Committee and Evaluation Subcommittee, information obtained from live broadcasting, recorded videos and minutes, and impressions felt when viewing each meeting. Lastly, this paper took up information exchanging meetings between IARC international expert group and the members of Oversight Committee and Evaluation Subcommittee, and described the information obtained from the English and Japanese audio files. At the Oversight Committee, the insufficient care of mind and the problem of 'out-of-frame' data came to light through concrete examples. Although the data provision by Fukushima Medical University still lacks completeness and transparency, the papers that support their own claims such as screening effect and overdiagnosis have been provided.
