On pulsed magnetization reversal mechanisms in thin magnetic films in weak fields

Description

Using stroboscopic magnetooptical means the character of the variation of magnetization was studied due to pulsed remagnetization of permalloy films in the range of fields corresponding to the remagnetization curve section adjoining directly the section of non-homogeneous rotation. It is shown that the formation of band-like domains, the subsequent appearance and the growth of discontinuities in the walls of above domains occur in films of > approximately 1000 A thick both in the area of inhomogeneous rotation in different directions and in the indicated range of fields. This mechanism underlies the appearance of a large number of domains at the edges and in the central areas of a film
