Azimuthally asymmetric orientation in experiments on fission of oriented nuclei
Description
The authors demonstrate the desirability of performing experiments in an azimuthally asymmetric geometry with a high degree of orientation of the target nuclei and polarization of the neutrons. The necessary kinematic coefficients are calculated. It is shown that for an aligned 235U nucleus in uranyl rubidium nitrate the experimental arrangement proposed is reasonable for sample temperatures of the order of 0.1 K. The experiment can be used for identification of p resonances and for determination of their spins
