Quantitative thermochemical evaluation of acid-alkaline properties of aluminium, gallium and indium

Description
An attempt is made to calculate and to compare heats of reactions of M2(SO4)3 sulfate formation in aqueous solutions. Melting heats of corresponding oxides with sodium hydroxide in the process of NaMO2 metallate formation (M-Al, Ga, In) are determined experimentally. It is found out that in Al-Ga-In series the regular change of acid- alkaline properties of the main group elements is not observed with the increase of their ionic radius. The obtained data are in a good agreement with earlier investigations
