Anodic behaviour of AISI 304 stainless steel straining electrodes in aqueous chloride solutions

Description
Current densities on the bare metal resulting from rapidly straining electrodes of AISI 304 stainless steel were determined. Experiments were performed at different applied potentials, in neutral and acidified NaCl solutions, at roon temperature and at 900C. The aim was to correlate these current densities with the susceptibility or otherwise of stainless steel to stress-corrosion cracking in the different conditions. (Author)

Determina-se as densidades de corrente no metal nu, resultante do rapido tensionamento de eletrodos de aco inoxidavel 304. Fez-se experiencias com diferentes potenciais em solucoes de NaCl neutras e acidificadas a temperatura ambiente e a 900C. O objetivo era correlacionar essas densidades de corrente com a susceptibilidade ou por outro lado o craqueamento do aco inoxidavel para corrosao sob tensao em diferentes condicoes. (E.G.)Files
