Some peculiarities of Moessbauer spectroscopy at registrating scattered gamma rays
Description
Scattering Moessbauer spectroscopy and its application for scattered γ-rays registration are examined theoretically. An experimental system is presented and its applicability is discussed in details. Nomograms for some basic dependences in the scattering Moessbauer spectroscopy are given. Theoretically predicted dependences of Moessbauer line parameters on the scatterer thichness, temperature and the recoilless absorption fraction changes are experimentally tested. Moessbauer spectra of tin amalgam are presented. It is shown that small mercury additions cause strong changes in the tin phonon spectrum without indications on the presence of electron compounds to be observed. 14 figs., 2 tabs., 20 refs
