Description
A neutron-diffraction study of the magnetic structure of PrFeO3 and NdFeO3 has been carried out by the time-of-flight method. Due to a high resolution of the method an intensity ratio of the [011] and [101] reflexes has been measured versus specimen temperature. Spin reorientation from the Gsub(x)-type of magnetic structure to the Gsub(z)-type is verified by a change of the intensity ratio for the NdFeO3 doublet with a decrease of temperature from 300 deg K to 80 deg K. The intensity ratio for PrFeO3 remains unchanged at the temperature about 10 deg K. A discrepancy between experimental and calculated values for the magnetic structure of the Gsub(x)-type in both substances is interpreted in terms of declination of the antiferromagnetic axis from the crystal axis
