On the technique for testing precipitation hardening alloy welded joints on craking resistance during heat treatment
Description
A method of relaxation testing was tentatively employed to study the resistance of the EP-718 refractory alloy to cracking during pre-welding heat treatment. Time to failure versus initial relaxation stress curves at different temperature are reported. The initial stress leading to failure of the welds after 10 minutes was determined, and its temperature dependence plotted
