Integral intermediate heat exchanger - steam generator for sodium cooled fast reactors

The steam generator consists of a jacket and rows of heat transfer tubes inside, alongside which secondary sodium flows. The jacket is surrounded by an intermediate heat exchanger shell through which primary sodium flows. The lenght of the secondary sodium circuit is minimal. The advantage is that the steam generator jacket is reinforced with heat conducting fins, which improves heat transfer between the primary and the secondary sodium. (J.B.)
