Elastic and inelastic scattering of photons at energies below the (γ, n) threshold in 56Fe, 60Ni, 55Mn, and 59Co
Description
The bremsstrahlung beam of the betatron at our institute has been used to obtain spectra of photons scattered by the nuclei 56Fe, 60Ni, 55Mn, and 59Co in the energy range 5--14 MeV. Cross sections have been obtained for the elastic scattering of photons, scattering to the first excited level of the target nucleus, inelastic scattering to groups of high-lying excited levels, and total cross sections for photon scattering. An analysis of the cross sections is carried out
