Creators

  • 1. Department of Energy, Washington, DC (USA)

Description

Recent work on the extension of LWR fuel burnup is described. Progress has included research and development on fuel performance phenomena at higher burnup levels, test assembly irradiations of existing fuel to extended burnups and the development and initial irradiation of new fuel designs. Some utilities in the United States and Europe have begun to extend burnup for entire batches of reload fuel in their power reactors. (U.K.)
