8He β-decay to the 6Li+n+n channel

Description
Up to now only a small fraction of the Gamow-Teller (GT) sum rule is known to be exhausted in the spectrum of 8Li. 8He β-decay to the 6Li+n+n channel is studied as a process which may indicate the concentration of GT strength at high excitation energies (near 9 MeV) in the spectrum of 8Li. An estimate of the branching ratio is obtained with a COSMA 8He wave function and a three-body 6Li+n+n continuum. (orig.)
