Description
A new class of cylindrically symmetric inhomogeneous string cosmological models is investigated. To get the deterministic solution, it has been assumed that the expansion (θ) in the model is proportional to the Eigen value σ11 of the shear tensor σj1. In the present work we have considered three cases: (i) B = f(x) g(t) and C = h(x) k(t), (ii) B f (x) g(t) and C = f(x) k(t), and (iii) B = f (x) g(t) and C = h(x) g(t), where B and C are metric coefficients. The physical and geometric aspects of these models are also discussed. (authors)
