Regulatory Support in Northwest Russia with Focus on Application of International Recommendations and Guidance on Radioactive Waste Management and Remediation of Contaminated Land. Agenda item 5 (Presentation in English)
Description
Supervision in Northwest Russia in the course of implementation of nuclear clean-up programmes. Three specific projects addressed regulatory supervision in the following areas: 1. Radiation exposure of workers. 2. Radiation exposure of the public during operations and in the longer term - after the remediation work is completed. 3. Medical and emergency preparedness and response. The presentation provides radiation threat assessment and recommends specific actions to reduce this threat.
