Spectroscopy of emissive beams in the visible region

Description

Active beam emission spectroscopy with lithium beam is one of the most important plasma diagnostics. This method is non perturbing and consists in the insertion of the Li0 beam and measurement of the emission from the 6708 Angstrom line resulting from the collisions between beam atoms and the electrons in the plasma. In comparison with other techniques, this diagnostic has many advantages and in this paper we will discuss some possibilities of applications of this method in different plasmas. Other active and passive spectroscopic methods being planned for different plasma experiments will also be discussed be discussed. (author). 10 refs., 1 fig., 1 tab
