Description
Two problems in astronomy are discussed. The first, 'atomic transition probabilities for strong and weak lines, radiative lifetimes', is treated under the following heads: absorption experiments, accuracy of temperature measurement, application of lifetime measurements, errors in emission and absorption measures depending on line strength. The second subject considered is 'the effective temperatures of cooler stars'. (U.K.)
